Philosophy of Ministry     Who We Are     Anglican Church History

A WA resident, born and raised, Fr. John Allen is a true lover of the Pacific Northwest. Raised in the Anglican tradition, he grew up with the liturgical practices being an integral part of his identity. After high school, he attended Western Washington University studying History with the intention of continuing on to a law school. During this time he served as a church youth leader, a university ministry team member and a summer Christian camp counselor for kids. It was during his second year at Western that he discerned a call to ministry and, instead of law, went on to pursue a Masters in Divinity through, first, Wycliffe Hall in England, and then Trinity School for Ministry in Pittsburgh. While studying theology, he met his wife Camila and married in the summer of 2015. After seminary, they discerned a call to return to Washington in order to help establish a liturgical community, rooted in the apostolic faith of the Church that will grow men and women into disciples of Christ, right here in his home state. Now living in Lacey, John hopes to accomplish just that along with the community of New Hope.
In his free time, John enjoys reading good books and critiquing films, cheering on the Seahawks and snowboarding down the slopes of the Cascades.

Camila was born in the tropical city of Recife, Brazil. Raised in the small Anglican community, she watched her father, an ordained priest, establish multiple churches in cities around Recife that were specifically aimed at reaching out to the poor and impoverished. She participated in these ministries by serving as the youth leader, organizing all the young members of these communities in fellowship, Bible study and evangelical outreaches; all while working hard in her studies in Industrial Engineering. After marrying Fr. John and moving up to the U.S., she is now focused on obtaining her teachers certification in order to teach math and science here in Washington. Her greatest joy is to teach children, both in education and in the truths of the Gospel.
Camila's passions include reading, music, gripping TV shows and traveling adventurously. It is her goal to explore as many states in the U.S. as possible.
